Anti- Wrinkle Treatment

What is Botulinum Toxin (Botox)? Anti wrinkle Treatment

Most people have heard of Botox®, the most commonly used brand of botulinum toxin. Botox is a purified protein produced by bacteria in laboratory conditions used for many aesthetic treatments including relaxing wrinkles and lifting the corners of the mouth.

Botox works at the point where the nerve connects to the muscle, stopping the muscle from working. Other brand names of botulinum toxin are available such as Azzalure are available. Here at the HBB Aesthetics we trust both Botox and Azzalure brands for our patient’s anti-wrinkle treatments as we believe it gives the best results.

What can be treated with Botox?

Botox can be used on many areas of the face and body, Here at HBB Aesthetic we use Botox to smooth out fine lines and wrinkle.

Area’s suitable for Anti Wrinkle treatment.

  • Frown lines (between eyebrows)
  • Forehead lines
  • Top of the nose (bunny lines)
  • Eyebrows/hooded eyes
  • Wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Under the eyes (tear trough)
  • Lipstick lines (around the mouth)
  • Chin Botox (to prevent dimpling)
  • Jawline & Neck
  • Jaw Angle (teeth grinding — bruxism)

Will Botox be able to get rid of all of my wrinkles?

Botox is an excellent treatment for fine lines and wrinkles that are associated with movement in that face and neck (dynamic lines). However when a wrinkle is more deeply ingrained it cannot be erased with a single treatment of Botox. For deeper lines there are other treatment options such as dermal fillers which may be a better option.

Other treatments to improve the quality of the skin such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion and Derma roller may provide further benefit.

Does Botox have a preventative effect?

It makes sense that Botox does prevent wrinkle formation if it is started before fixed wrinkles establish. However there is a careful balance when deciding to treat younger patients – premature treatment can make someone look older rather than the more youthful look desired. Whether or not treatment is appropriate is always decided on an individual patient basis.

What does Botox treatment involve?

Prior to treatment you will have a thorough consultation to discover your main concerns and priorities. We will also take a medical history to make sure Botox is a safe and appropriate treatment for you. Photographs will also be taken as a record.

Treatment itself only takes a few minutes and involves injections with tiny needles, directly into the muscles we are targeting.

Does Botox hurt?

Rather than being painful most people describe Botox as a little uncomfortable. Some factors may make it feel more painful such as stress or hormonal fluctuations. We may apply some ice prior to injection, numbing the area and making treatment more comfortable.

Are the results of Botox instant?

Patients normally see the results from their Botox between 4 days and 2 weeks and some patients may require a little top up for optimum results in days 10-14.

How long does Botox last?

In most people Botox lasts for 3 to 4 months. We advise people to expect 3 months on their first treatment. Some patients do find the effects last much longer. Different factors such as sun exposure, dietary factors and activity levels can all affect the duration of results.

Book a consultation We will discuss your needs and then create a personal treatment plan designed to achieve the best results.

IPL laser Hair removal Treatment

What colour hair can be treated?

Other than white and grey hair all hair colours can be permanently reduced through treatments. Darker hairs are easily treated due to the high levels of melanin found in the hair. Light brown and slightly red hair has also proven to work, however we do not guarantee as good results with this type of hair colour.

Is the treatment painful?

The feeling of IPL varies from each individual, it may feel like a slight stinging sensation, or hot pin pricks on the skin, or an elastic band hitting the skin added with a bit of heat.  certain areas of the body are more sensitive than others as with all hair removal methods. If the client finds the IPL to painful there is another option of pain-free IPL which we offer but we do charge more and it will take longer.

How many treatments do I need?

On average most clients have between 8-12 sessions with four to eight weeks intervals depending on the area and the hair growth on the individual. After the course of sessions clients either don’t have to worry about hair growth anymore or they occasionally wax/shave, most clients have to top up the area a couple of times once a year after the course.
Everyone will need a consultation to discuss the area to be treated, the cost of the treatment and to allow us time to tell you how it works. During the consultation we shall ask to see the area which will be treated so that we can assess the skin colour and hair colour and provide more accurate information suited to yourself.

What should I expect before/during/after the treatment.

As IPL is a heat treatment we ask that you do not do exercise 24 hours before and after the treatment, arrive slightly earlier than your appointment time so that you can relax in our reception and get your body temperature down. We expect you to shave before the treatment unless you are unable to or have agreed otherwise with your therapist. While the treatment is taking place you will be wearing light protection glasses as it is a light based therapy. You may feel a slight sensation over the area being treated but it wont effect any other part of your body. After the treatment your skin may appear red and slightly raised in the follicles, although this usually calms down within a few hours. the skin may be hot but your therapist will cool down the area after the treatment. The hair is still in the follicle after the treatment, it has been destroyed and now needs to push itself out of the follicle, depending on the client the hair may take 1-2 weeks to fall out.

What area can be treated?

Any area of the body can be treated, except near the eye area, over a tattooed area.

  • Popular areas include:
  • Underarms
  • Bikini/Hollywood/Brazilian
  • Face
  • Legs
  • Back & Shoulders.

Fat Dissolving

What are the types of Fat Dissolving Procedures?

There are several types of fat-dissolving procedures available on the market, each with its unique mechanisms of action. The most popular types of fat-dissolving procedures include:

  1. Lipolysis is a non-surgical fat-dissolving treatment that involves injecting a chemical substance, such as phosphatidylcholine, into the targeted area. This substance works by breaking down the fat cells in the treated area, which are then naturally eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system.
  2. Kybella is an injectable treatment that uses deoxycholic acid to destroy fat cells in the chin area. This procedure is specifically designed to reduce the appearance of a double chin.
  3. Cool Sculpting is a non-invasive fat-dissolving treatment that uses cold temperatures to freeze and kill fat cells in the treated area. The dead fat cells are then eliminated by the body’s natural processes over time.
  4. Ultra shape is a non-invasive fat-dissolving treatment that uses ultrasound waves to break down fat cells in the treated area. The body’s lymphatic system naturally eliminates the dead fat cells.

What are the benefits of Fat Dissolving Procedures?

  1. Most fat-dissolving procedures are non-surgical, meaning that there is no need for incisions or anaesthesia. This makes the procedure less invasive and reduces the risk of complications.
  2. Fat-dissolving procedures are typically quick and can be completed within an hour, depending on the size and number of areas being treated.
  3. Since most fat-dissolving procedures are non-surgical, there is no downtime required. Patients can typically resume their normal activities immediately after the procedure.
  4. Fat-dissolving procedures offer long-lasting results, with many patients experiencing a significant reduction in the treated area after just one treatment.

What to expect during and after the treatment?

During the fat-dissolving procedure, the patient will receive injections into the targeted area. The number of injections will depend on the size and number of areas being treated. The procedure is typically quick and painless, with patients reporting only mild discomfort during the injection process.

After the procedure, patients may experience some mild swelling or bruising in the treated area. This typically resolves within a few days, and patients can resume their normal activities immediately after the treatment.

Results from fat-dissolving procedures are typically seen within a few weeks to a
